A load bearing floorboard at over double the density of standard P5 chipboards to improve the airborne sound reductions transferring through a floor. Commonly installed on top of our P8 isolation strip a floating floor system can be created. Floating floor systems are some of the highest performing systems for reduction of sound and vibration through floor/ ceiling partitions and when using the STS TG4 boards in place of conventional structural boarding minimal height is added on to the floor build up. The TG4 boards can be installed on timber joist or metal structures with tongue and groove on four sides to give an airtight seal.
As fibre cement is water resistant, this means the board can also be used in a wide range of applications including: wet rooms, kitchens, outdoor tiled areas, flat rooms, balconies, garden rooms and many more.
The high thermal conductivity of the cement fibre board allows the cement fibre to absorb and release heat much more efficiently than chipboard, therefore enhancing the performance of you underfloor heating.
Further reductions in both impact and airborne sound transmission can be gained by using a suitable MuteMat underlay on top of the STS TG4 boards. The performance can even be further increased with the addition of Tecsound, which will help to further reduce sound and vibration for areas requiring higher levels of performance.
